A Perfect Party

The eve before the long-awaited nuptials of JJ and the Southern Gentleman, my mom threw an amazing dinner party. Everything was perfect. The food was exquisite, the company fantastic, the weather lovely. The kids rode horses, blew bubbles, and played on the lawn. We enjoyed some mighty tasty pre-wedding chocolate cake (which is the Only Cake, according to JJ).

At the end of the evening we were thoroughly spent, and thoroughly satisfied.
Such a lovely party.

Reilly apparently thought so, too.

Approaching my Aunt Paula, she gave her a little tug on the pant leg.
"Thank you for my birthday cake!" She exclaimed, and then turned to regard my sister, the bride-to-be-- as though she had been a most gracious host to the soon-to-be three-year-old.

"This was a Perfect Party!"

Reilly pronounced with satisfaction.

Well, of course.
With her birthday only days away, what would any self-respecting princess believe?
We were all there to celebrate Reilly's birthday.
Naturally.

Happy (actual) Birthday, Reilly.
For three years you have brought so much sweetness and sunshine into our lives.
I love you, little angel.
