One Giant Leap for Sheepkind

You've really got to hand it to Reilly, she has decked Sheepie out with every accessory a stuffed animal could want. Tiaras, purses, necklaces... she has it all. She even has her very own four poster bed, motorcycle, and picnic table for festive gatherings. Sheepie is an excellent hostess, by the way.

But lately, with all the baby accessories laying about the house, Reilly has become quite creative in acquiring new and exciting trinkets for Sheepie's world.

Case in point, the other day while feeding one of the twins their second breakfast I noticed Reilly running off with the bottle cap. I called out and asked her just where she thought she was going with it. As she turned around, I noticed that she had prominently placed the cap completely covering Sheepie's fuzzy little head.

"Ummm, Reilly?" I asked, "What is Sheepie doing with the bottle cap?"

I braced myself for what was certain to be an interesting reply.
It came with true theatrical finesse.

"This is ooooooooouter spaaaaaaaaaaaace Sheepie!" she exclaimed.

Look out, world.
The Sheepie has landed.

A Name & A Blessing

"When God wants a great work done in the world or a great wrong righted, he goes about it in a very unusual way. He doesn’t stir up his earthquakes or send forth his thunderbolts. Instead, he has a helpless baby born, perhaps in a simple home and of some obscure mother. And then God puts the idea into the mother’s heart, and she puts it into the baby’s mind. And then God waits. The greatest forces in the world are not the earthquakes and the thunderbolts. The greatest forces in the world are babies."

The Sweet By and By

It's amazing, the things that pop into your head when all of your energy reserves have been exhausted to the max.

After going through the standard repertoire of "You Are My Sunshine," "Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star," and countless Primary songs, I was utterly and completely spent. And yet the fussing continued.

So... at times like these, really there's only one option remaining. You bring out the obvious lullaby classic. And the funny thing is-- it worked.

Muchas gracias, amigos.

Aunt Karen, this is for you.

Centerpiece

Poppies, iris, and peonies...

Our garden is exploding with June's finest floral royalty.

But sometimes...
the best bouquets come from much humbler stock,

Delivered by small and sticky hands

And accompanied with a cheery Popsicle smile.

Blossoming

Bryson: Reilly! You're growing like a weed!!!

Reilly: No, I am not.

Bryson: Oh?

Reilly: I am not growing like a weed. I am growing like a flower!
